No matter the reason you leave a job you’ve held a long time, (at least office type jobs) inevitably you’re walking out with some boxes of stuff. It’s a strange feeling, almost like people who pass you are judging you without knowing the circumstances of your departure. I suspected I was going to be  included in the next wave of layoffs, so I had packed everything I wanted to take with me in a box a week prior so I didn’t have to spend a day packing while people gave me sad puppy dog eyes. I was “wheels up” in 10 minutes.

I do miss aspects of it, mostly friends… oh and money… I miss money.
